Who knows, that may have been the original intention behind Jesus' actions and words.
Jesus as depicted in the New Testament wasn't a real person. He was an imaginary character created by Paul. Paul's disciples wrote all of the stories about the Jesus character. That's one reason the Jesus character has different personalities.
