Out of interest, how much does something like that set you back?
Depending on where you get one, it retails for between $320 to $350 US.
There are certainly cheaper .22 caliber rifles to be had, but the Ruger 10/22 is considered to be one of the top 3 rifles (of that caliber) you can own.
I think my Ruger 10/22 is the second or third firearm I got. The first was a 12 gauge Remington 870, the third or second was a Ruger Mini-14. Three decades later, I still have them and shoot them.
My 10/22 is the classic blued one with a wood stock. They're accurate and reliable. The Takedown looks very practical.
