At least there aren't many religions out there that outright ban the use of vaccines (that I know of, barring a couple of sects in Islam).

True, but it's thanks to religious extremists (and, I'm sure, conspiracy nuts are involved, too) that polio is making somewhat of a comeback in parts of Asia and Africa.
