Of course the food industry exists to make money. Did you see the program mention that the epidemic is also in the developing world? It's the endless persuit of profit that's the problem everywhere. Shareholders expect endless growth, and that's just not naturally sustainable.

The human weakness to be exploited is the addictive nature of sugar, fat and salt to us.
