Members are warned about these things. Maybe not to your standards, but they are.
We have had times where rules are more strictly applied than others, like when new members were lost due to negative greetings... it became a rule to be polite in intro threads.
I was discussing this today with some friends who hate swearing. When you don't swear, you really notice when other people do it. Exposure to swearing lowers your sensitivity to it.
It's a pretty low blow to insult someone just because you know that will upset them. That really shows what kind of degenerate that person is, and theists are equally guilty.
