I can easily think of ways Christianity is violent today though. Look no further than what's going on in Africa with Christianity. Also, the whole Anti-Gay problem throughout the centuries stems from religion. You can probably blame a lot of the violence against gay people on the religion that promotes that kind of in-group out-group, so and so is evil mentality. I see you're going to completely forget history after the bible came out. Since slavery in the colonial days wasn't endorsed by the bible at all, no you're right.
The entire church in the past did not condone violence. There's a lot going on with Christianity in Africa much good, homes, schools, food, medicine, education, wells and much more, yet you can only see a few isolated incidences.
As for the gays, Christians have the right to object to their life style, I did before I was a Christian and I know other non believers that do now. The church does not condone violence upon anyone period.
As for slavery, the secular world is allowing without even complaint the greatest slave trade the world has ever seen, while the Christian church is trying to free as many as possible.
Islam has called for the elimination of the U.S. and the Christians of the world.
Christians do not like all of our past even though we are not actually responsible for it, but you and others are living in a time when plenty can be done about today's slave trade. Christianity is on the move to help these people how will history report the secular world's effort.

See, you're guilty of what you're railing against here.
SOME sects of Islam are doing that, by no means all.
Yes, SOME Christian groups are doing good in places around the world, while SOME are still guilty of heinous acts.
And what slave trade would that be that you are referring to?
