So is the passage I gave. So are passages in which Jesus and the apostles pray within view of other men.

They are hypocrits because they pray in public (6:5).

Or they pray in public because they're hypocrites.

The next verse prescribes the remedy, which you apparently wish to ignore.

I think it's a good remedy for hypocrites.

The context and meaning are clear and unavoidable. You can follow the teaching or admit that the word of your god doesn't trump your conviction.

Considering other passages such as the one I provided and those in which Jesus and the apostles pray within view of other men, I disagree that your interpretation is clear and unavoidable.
