Quote:Am I the only one who finds the fact that there is no life after death comforting?Nope, I find it comforting too. Being dead is very much like being asleep. Just no dreaming. I see it as being free from pain, free from trouble and such. From the world's point of view, it is rid of you and from yours you are rid of the world. Billions of years will pass and you wouldn't notice a thing. We have been dead for billions of years and yet no one suffers any ill effects of that. We have each missed billions of years and no one is bothered by that. Our existance is temporary and once our time is up we go back into oblivion but this time forever.
This is why you need to live your life well, because you won't get another chance.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
