Map size depends on your choice of size.
As for how "exact" same it is to earth is that is it similar but still has many many differences. If you look at the outline of the continents you won't be able to see any similarity to real continents. And the type of land won't be in the same places (ie deserts and jungles). Yet you will still get a similar feel of ancient civilizations from different type of areas. It definitely just remixes the land area and types with civilizations being randomly placed in it.
