Usually, when someone says the fairer sex, they mean softer and more gentle (read weaker and in need of protection). Women cannot be generalized into such a category because 1) most of the time we only appear to be softer and more gentle, and 2) many women are actually the strong protective type as many men are timid and gentle and looking for a strong woman to protect them. (Don't look herepicture me as a 1950's housewife with a kinky side)
Anyways, I wasn't talking about beauty at all.
I think he mebt beauty when he said fairer sex and not need for protection. In all you are right gender roles are bullshit, but relationships are equal efforts.
