I do however wonder what the percent of winners is in comparison to the total amount of world wide gamers? .0000001% perhaps?

Another thought you might wish to consider: sometimes going for simple entertainment, in order to escape the day-to-day stresses or ennui of life, is not necessarily a useless thing.
Also, since when are we required to benefit all mankind? And since that is your standard, can you show specifically what you have done in that regard?
Or, alternatively, you could go easy on the sanctimony.
