- Atheists have higher incomes. (10-15% higher, according to 1989 study)
- Atheists are still married longer. (21% of atheists have been divorced vs 29% for Christians) Barna - Research Group 1999
- Atheists are less likely to end up in jail. (Atheists comprise 15% of the population of America, however, only 1% of the prison population are non-believers.)
- Atheists are more likely to climb to the top of the academy. (97% of the National Academy of Sciences members are atheists.'s 3,200 members, comprising more than 200 recipients Noble Laureate)
- Atheists are less likely to succumb to the temptation of authoritarian regimes that promise miraculous and divine decrees sent. Do you think Hitler could have convinced a nation of secularists / atheists who slaughtered Jews was a good way to spend a Sunday? But much easier to do when working with the devotees of Martin Luther antisemitic.
- Atheists live longer and happier, according to a 2009 survey conducted by the Erasmus University of Rotterdam
- Atheists do not have to hate anyone. There is no doctrine that promotes violence against believers.
- Atheists have higher growth in moral development. Famous American psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg writes that at the highest levels of moral development - moral judgments must be justified by rational moral reasons rather than appeal to the order of nature or religious authority or revelation. While Freud suggests that religion serves to undermine the moral responsibility while promoting fanaticism, he said that people who behave morally only for fear of supernatural punishment is unlikely to respect and care for others from an altruistic perspective.
- Atheists reach deeper levels of critical thinking and free thought.
- Atheists are more open, aware and responsible when it comes to family planning with their partners. They don't fear or avoid discussing abortions nor contraceptives.
May I ask were did you get your info.Either that or you and I have very different definitions of the word misery.
