I'm sure that's hilarious. Sometimes we get sheets of ice on our lake, and I've seen ducks walking around on it, but I haven't seen them come down hard yet.
Momma ducks are not the most attentive of birds. I have kind of a sad story about a lost baby duck. I noticed it on the lake, and was talking to one of my parents about maybe taking the wave runner out and saving it. Unfortunately as we were talking, the duckling got very frantic, and suddenly disappeared. Some fishy got to it first.
As for any animal I actually saved, does catching a litter of puppies under the cabin and finding them all homes count?
