Double standards? white guy gets shot by black cop in a similar situation days apart

I don't understand how a bigger city like Ferguson could have so few minorities on the police force, but growing up in a small town that used to be the Midwest KKK rally point--I can see how small towns with limited posts could have preferential treatment.

The racial makeup of Ferguson has been changing rapidly. It was majority white in the 90s. I don't think the department has made a serious effort to catch up to the demographics, but it's at least somewhat understandable that their police force is still mostly white, cops tend to make a career of it and put in their 20-30 years.
