Adam Sandler was also good in The Wedding Singer. Everything else has been purile unfunny shit.
Jack Black although a single character star has a watchable character.
I have seen him in older roles playing different characters but I think he does the chubby bundle of energy so well that that's what he gets cast as.
I blame that record shop film with John Cusack whatever it was.
