Yeah, I get that. My dissatisfaction with IOS and Apple in general started when I became interested in starting to develop apps for mobile devices.
Apple: pay $99/year and buy a Mac (at least a grand, closer to two grand for anything portable and suitable for development).
Android: Download a free developer kit that integrates with the IDE I already have.
As much as I wouldn't mind having a nice Macbook Pro, I don't have a couple grand lying around to dabble in app development. :p
