It is that kind of power that I respect/believe in. The simple fact that we exist proves there are powers beyond our control. To me the complexity of it all proves intelligence existed before us.That just sounds like the physical laws of the universe. The fact that I don't float off into space, and cannot do so on demand, proves that there are powers beyond our control. The complexity of it tells me little. The chaotic and messy nature of it all doesn't make me think that there's an intellect behind it. One of the hallmarks of intellect is its ability to communicate its thoughts to others in a clear and distinct manner. If such a universal intellect exists, I expect that we'll run into it at some point. Until then, I'm not worried about it, and I stopped trying to wish it into existence some years ago.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
