Maybe because it essentialy translates to: you are broken and need fixing. By us.
And why should that opinion bother you? Do they know you? Live your life the way you want to live, and devil take the hindmost.
I had a drummer in a band once, instead of stenciling the band's name on his kick-drum head, he stenciled this:

If someone wants to think I'm broken, that's their problem, not mine.
Besides, my continued atheism in the face of their prayers only demonstrates the uselessness of prayer. Why should that bother me?
I've never made a habit of worrying about the opinions of irrational people, and I wouldn't advise anyone else to do so either.
