I never said that, marijuana is one of many possible impairments that can be experienced while driving, however that has nothing to do with the chemical properties of the drug - Marijuana is in no way the cause of impaired driving.
It is more productive and realistic to blame the driver for the indiscretion, as opposed to targeting the substance.
Quote: agreed it is Idiotic to drive while im paired but thats the thing about being impaired judgement goes out the window and your more likely to do stupid stuff.
Weed does not effect your judgement in that regard, it does not make you take spontaneous actions at the cost of rational thought, it is if anything more likely to make you reconsider driving, out of paranoia or lack of confidence. The only potential impairment would be to reaction times and distractions, but as I already pointed out, mundane stimuli is a more common cause of road accidents that marijuana impairment.
Quote: so "more likely" all of a sudden means it dont happen ?!?
No, it means that compared to EXPECTED distractions on the road, marijuana impairment is relatively unlikely to cause an accident. Unless you want to remove music, billboards and sexy women etc from being potentially distracting during driving you are being entirely hypocritical in your attitude towards weed.
Quote: Tell that to my uncle the was T boned couple years back oh wait you cant cuz hes dead.... Fuckn stoned POS ran a red light.
And you blame weed? I'm sorry for your loss, but your angst is misplaced. Marijuana did not make that person run a red light, He chose to drive while impaired... There is a huge difference between the two statements.
Quote: And there are other side effects that crop up from the use of marujuana though granted you may never exspirence any side effects if you are an occasional smoker.. just like if you have a touch of wine with dinner its actually good for you...
I am a consistent smoker, many of my friends are, many of the most successful, intelligent, motivated and responsible people I know are, none of them display these so called 'negative effects' at all. Not only that but the most comprehensive research to date on marijuana finds the negative effects to be trivial. Even organisations such as the AMA have recommended the decriminalisation of weed,
Quote:Ive done my research on side effects and such and no its not harmless by any means...
No you haven't, you've pulled this all out of your ass.
Everything in life is a risk assessment, and on a scale of the risk inherent in decisions you are likely to make, smoking marijuana is beyond mundane.
You have an avatar of a car, looks fast, i'm assuming you like racing? Even sanctioned car racing is more dangerous to the health of the individual involved and all present witnesses, yet I bet you aren't anti formula 1...
You're a giant hypocrite.
Quote:sorry if im a bit touchy when it comes to such sheot .. but im sure you can understand
That's no excuse for losing perspective and misplacing blame. I have lost 2 good friends to drunk driving - i'm not anti alcohol, i'm anti drunk-driving.
