We should not indulge our desires to see people suffer too much. Death is acceptable if someone has done something bad enough, even if it was a quick death. Even if the victim suffered much more than they did.
It would feel more gratifying if someone died the same way they made someone else die, but that's less about justice and more about giving in to emotions. The anger stage of grief can be brutal.
