Just like with the things you're talking about... theology is not the appropriate tool. Likewise when considering a theological problem, science is an inappropriate tool. Unless you're some kind of unique individual that never considers meaning and belief, which is scientifically impossible, then you need to use rational processes that are not scientific. You yourself are disproof of your own claims.
Theology is not a tool at all. It is placebo, a comic book club. It is a distortion of our species natural behaviors and a reflection of our own desires. Calling theology a tool is like pretending a Kaleidoscope is a telescope. It is a placation of our egos and our fears and our ignorance of the reality that we are doing that.
Again, it is no different the placebo Egyptians created with their polytheism and were successful for 3,000 years centering their lives around a falsehood. Religion exists because of our species flawed perceptions.
