When that is the case, I think it petty when someone focuses on semantics and not really defend the issues he or she are promoting.
It's kinda the opposite for me. There are some things that must follow, for sure, but mostly it's my take on the world that leads to my atheism rather than my atheism leading to other views. And I take the more positive view that there aren't gods.
