Just to offer one example of Democratic rightward drift (or in some cases, lurches), let's look at Obama's signature piece he's best know for: "Obamacare".

The Affordable Healthcare Act, aka Obamacare, is based on a plan hatched by the Heritage Foundation, promoted by Newt Gingrich in response to the Clinton plan for healthcare, run as part of Bob Dole's campaign in 1996, implemented by Governor Mitt Romney and upheld by the Roberts court.

But you're probably one of those crackpots who think Obamacare is socialism, don't you? I can only imagine how your head would explode if liberals had gotten what they wanted: Medicare For All.

That's just one example. I could go on but I'm really getting tired of schooling you.

You think I haven't heard these left wing talking points before....Sonnyboy? Before Obamacare was passed the leftwing talking points were that the republicans had no good ideas. Where is the republican plan they would ask. Now that Obamacare has turned into a disaster....its suddenly the republicans plan. You lefties are a bunch of liars.

Obamacare isn't socialism....I never said it was.....its corporatism. And sonnyboy....don't claim this was a rightwing concoction. The Heritage foundation held the view that as technical matter some form of requirement to purchase universal health care was needed to prevent adverse selection. Do you know what adverse selection is? This was a view held by everyone with half a brain..

The alternative plan to Hillary care was decidedly different than Obamacare. It didn't push people to get healthcare coverage for their own good, but to protect others. The requirement to purchase coverage focused on catastrophic costs...not routine costs. It also differed in that it did not mandate a new tax be levied against those who don't purchase health care insurance. What it did do is offer generous a tax credit if you did buy health insurance.

What was proposed in the early 90s in response to Hilliary Care was decidedly different than Obamacare. It was certainly not anything embraced by the right wing electorate...thats for sure.

Universal Health Care coverage, amnesty for illegal aliens, huge government "stimulus" projects, are all part of the extreme left wing platform that Obama and his cohorts have embraced. The nation doesn't like it...hence the reason why republicans control most of government.
