Interesting comparison. There are a few similarities and it might be the case, like people can't choose not to be gay, they also can't choose not to be moral.
The way I have been thinking of it is almost like an irrational fear. For example, someone might be scared of spiders. Even though they 'know' a particular spider can't hurt them at all they are still scared to go over to pick it up. Similarly, to do something immoral, even though they know nothing will happen, people just can't do it in the same way (not that they should).
