...meanwhile, here in the real world, on the continuum between society uber alles and individual uber alles, it appears that the best results for the most people lies somewhere in the middle. Where the fulcrum rests is debatable, of course.
IMO, there's room for both individualism (though not unrestrained) and altruism.
