I don't understand stand why they just don't do "yeah, we thought that 2K years ago, now we think different". They hurt their own case.

Most of all because people are still afraid of hell when they don't buy every helping of shitballs served on the bible platter.

And because there are still shitstains out there making good money by coning the gullible, or because there's a power waiting for those who can convince their sheeple best.
