Why is the guard so sure the information is both credible and certain, given that its so limited?
He/she knows for sure that a catastrophe will happen, the speed of the train, that the train is on tracks, that there will be no survivors, yet has no idea what the catastrophe will be, where it will be, or when they will arrive at it. How is he so certain it will happen, and that there will be no survivors? Seems like he's making an uneducated guess.
