Sure, I mean, say you came to live in a European country and to a lesser extent USA (heavy Christianity pressures) it simply doesn't matter what anyone else says your religion is. No matter what forms someone made when you were born, you're free to be any religion or no religion. For example, I'm in England, and I have no idea what religion most people are. And they don't ask me either. It's just not an issue. No one will force you to go to any sort of mosque or whatever, or do any rituals, or wear any particular clothing.
I can undestand that if all you have known is religion being forced on you, this may come as rather a surprise! But hopefully a pleasant one.
I'd like to add that the idea of someone being "born" a Muslim (or any other religion) is disgusting. Any country which practices this kind of thing is in the dark ages as far I'm concerned.
