OUIJA boards are fun. They DO allow you (sometimes, maybe) to get in touch with something deep and mysteries-- the subconscious processes in the brain.
There are other fun ways to do this. One that I used to do as a young adult was to clear my mind and walk in a straight line until I felt "pulled" left or right. When I really got into this, I ended up walking all over neighbors' lawns, discovering cool little back-alley cafes that I never knew existed, finding lost keys, and generally noticing neat stuff that I never would have with my normal way of deciding how to get around. I discovered that the subconscious mind is way more curious, and much less inhibited, than my conscious mind.
In fact, any time you really clear your mind and do something, you'll be surprised how much your body fills in for you. Sit at a paper with a pen and a blank mind long enough, and don't be surprised if your hand starts writing "on its own." I once wrote a pretty good piano piece in music school using this method.
