Yes. That feeling is not a good one. Which one happened? Let's play psychological roulette with blurring information. Any of it real? Am I real? It isn't impossible that OP had a histrionic personality disorder, was a delusional pathological liar, enjoyed concurrent schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, and was hiding behind the shell of a split persona...
But that doesn't make them any less a troll, and there was nothing one could have done to help that if one tried. It probably won't even get to them... psychotic depression might have been affected by this, but it doesn't matter: it was never actually in your hands, and if they DO opt to end the pain? Let them go. It's for the best.
