The fear of death is only natural and it easily leads to the desire of eternal life, if not in this mortal version (as is evidently not going to happen), then in some non-tangible format.
It is wishful thinking... and it is comforting to think it is so.
Reality, on the other hand, cares not for your desires and fears. Reality just is.
Most of us here are inclined to accept the apparent reality, instead of letting ourselves give in to our wishes and fears.
You do what you feel works best for you... in the end, it doesn't really matter.
