Which is why the answer to every single marriage proposal in the West is now to phone the police, and not the traditional "yes" or "no". It also explains why there were zero marriage cerrimonies anywhere in the West last year.
Yeah, I personally was extremely surprised when I asked my wife to marry me, and her response was to go with me to get a marriage license, sign it, and then purchase rings! I was expecting to be in maximum security by the end of the hour.
It was honestly rather disappointing.
