For some people it's all about reading tea leaves. For others it's in the stars and their alignment at birth.
Bible xtians divine meaning by studying scripture the way lawyers study the law. They seek objective, holy marching orders.
Social xtians enjoy the communal experience of a shared brotherhood of rituals. They like belonging to a special, chosen group.
Some xtians believe in direct, intra-personal revelation of the presence of god which they associate with the bible since that is their culture.
A few xtians don't literally believe anything in the bible but find meaning in the stories on a strictly allegorical level.
It is pretty hard to boil down all of it to one simple description.
