Bless the catholics, they do their best to have it both ways, window dressing gives the impression they're onboard with the divorce/remarriage prohibition, and then they sell annulments like crazy.
Ever look at stats on annulments? Huge variations from country to country, I'm smelling skulduggery and perfidy on a scale dwarfing the pedo scandal.
It's my understanding that other denominations the catholics ostensibly recognize their in-house christian marriages are super easy to annul if the couple (or one of them) jumps to the catholic brand.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
