Hours later, a gunman opened fire outside a synagogue in Krystalgade street, about 5km from the scene of the first attack, killing a Jewish man and wounding two police officers.

The victim was named as Dan Uzan, 37. He had been on security duty while a bat mitzvah ceremony was taking place inside the synagogue.

So 3 'good guys' with guns were no match for one bad guy with a gun who was ready to use his. Kind of points up the stupidity of the NRA in insisting that we put armed men everywhere to keep us "safe."

Uh-huh, because anecdotes make such good data.

"There is only one species" - Go tell that to everyone who suffered any form of racial or ethnic prejudice, discrimination, hatred and violence. Go tell them that race doesn't exist. And then come tell me if it really fixed anything. Scientists have already asserted with evidence that we are all one species, but that's not going to erase racism and ethnic prejudices. We need to talk about race and ethnicity to solve those problems - Not talking about it, like Morgan Freeman proposed, is ignoring the problem and allowing it to grow. Saying Jews aren't race, while biologically accurate, is dismissing every potential experience Jewish people face because of anti-Semitic actions. Islam itself is not a race, but Arab is, and saying it isn't is dismissing experiences of non-Muslim middle easterns who suffered discrimination because society thought they were Muslims

Better yet - Go tell racial supremacists that race doesn't exist and see how much that will work out of you - The only way we are going to embrace the fact we are all one species is by talking and pointing out our ethnic differences and proving it is not a relevant variable. Simply saying that there are no races is giving a pass to any kind of racially based discrimination.

What racists define as race has no scientific merit, it is simply bigotry.

Jews aren't a race, they aren't even a clear genetic ethnicity. They are a cultural ethnicity. Who determines who is or is not Jewish?

I could post 20 pictures of 10 Jews and 10 Gentiles, you would not be able to tell who is who.
