Does everything have an explanation? Well, certainly we don't have an explanation for everything today, though we have more and better explanations than we used to. Will we ever have an explanation for everything? Maybe not. Singularities will probably prevent total explanation.
Does everything have a cause? If you mean an explainable cause, see above. Otherwise, I'm not so sure that everything does have a cause. There's an infinite regression problem with everything having a cause. The religious solve that by inserting god or calling a first mover god. But then god or the first mover doesn't have a cause, so god isn't a solution.

If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
