There are limits even with "able bodied" people too. My senses all work, but emotionally I could not handle a battlefield. Much in the same way I am not equipped to be a neurosurgeon.
I am quite sure however, whatever jobs a deaf person could not do, they certainly could do other things and even better than a hearing person.
My advice if they want to win hearts and minds would be really simple. STOP KILLING PEOPLE.
