WL, it's not often I read the word "duped." I think the only time I've read it has been when Jeremiah said it in JER 20:7. So, you have company that goes a long way back. My advice is worthless, but I'll give it to you anyway:
Just do what you are doing. Don't look back or like Lot's wife,(who saw her good life destroyed) you will turn into a hardened person (not literally a pillar of salt).
