on the disc. That said, I usually try to keep the mix of pieces on each disc simple.
Of course, I should note that using the star ratings as a multiplication factor usually means that, even if a recording that isn't the greatest gets the highest scores, it'll more likely be a fairly good recording and not just some outright wretched one that just plods its way through a piece. If that happens, I just treat it as an outlier and take it off the list.
The simple "more music for the buck" does make me seem like a skinflint, but always keeping the acclaim in mind makes sure I stay an enlightened one.
