There's quite a difference between wanting to erase capitalism and wanting to change the system.
Yes, but if you want to reform the system you are either a liberal or at most a social liberal/social democrat - Both positions are based on liberalism. If you want to erase capitalism you're not a liberal. I'm saying that A+ being liberal or not depends - Liberals are usually supportive of social justice, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of A+ was strongly liberal, but still I maintain the point that both conservatives and liberals get their arguments from classical liberalism, the difference is merely on how much responsibility the state has for the individual - Voting conservative or liberal doesn't make a drastic change in the system.
Quote:Then you haven't listened very clearly, they have, or had, a very "you're either with us or you're shit" philosophy, perhaps best characterized by historian Richard Carrier when he said: "There is a new atheism brewing, and it’s the rift we need, to cut free the dead weight so we can kick the C.H.U.D.’s back into the sewers and finally disown them, once and for all."From what I've read there a lot of them hate capitalism and want to dissolve it or drastically change it - That's not very liberal, liberals may be supportive of welfare but they don't defend abolishing capitalism - I'd say they are socialist or socialistic oriented - And no, it's not the same as being liberal, it's a drastic different position altogether - Check the above post as well. BTW, good to have more conservative atheists on board
And whether you consider them liberals or not, they most certainly consider themselves liberals. I consider them assholes.
