Come on, you don't think the guys in charge of that stuff would be using piracy as justification for charging more no matter what we do? I'm all for buying media, but calling this a situation that exclusively pirates are influencing is entirely naive. In many cases, piracy is a service problem, one that could easily be fixed by instituting the fair price first, in any case. Just look at the success of Netflix: content at a competitive rate gets customers, and I don't think it's fair to say there's no overlap between Netflix users and pirates.
