One would also expect Christians not to divorce if Mark 10:9 was taken as seriously as the passages invoked to discriminate against homosexuals, but we all know what reality demonstrates in this regard. I wonder if proper Christian bakers are as passionate about not baking cakes for those Christian divorcees that are remarrying?
You make an excellent point. I've never understood the sanctity of marriage argument when those that divorce and remarry are violating those tenants. It's very hypocritical to hold firm on some portions and ignore others. To me 2 people of the same gender who remain devoted and loyal to each other hold more true to the intended spirit of marriage than heterosexual individuals who do not hold true to their vows.
