I mean, really - There's huge amounts of groupthinking in organized atheism, and it's not just on A+, it's on every group of atheists who organize themselves according to common principles. A+ is no worse than Dawkins who believes religion is the hugest driving force in the world when virtually anything can be a force to cause evil - Not only that, but he has blind faith that the only correct society is one where people are atheists, because he says so. I think it's time atheists stop giving a fuck about important figures and considering them leaders and think for themselves. There's so much complexity in the world that seeing it trough the words of just one group gives you a very narrow perspective.
I agree we shouldn't care about atheist figures, that's in part why I'm disparaging PZ myers, because he's clearly not a voice for atheism, maybe nobody is, but, it's perfectly vald to criticize A+. It's a feminist movement that not all atheists agree with. There have been plenty of atheists that have been banned on freethroughtblogs for simply being opposed to the zeitgeist of the site. Also, Dawkins supposed position that religion is the hugest driving force in the world against logic and reason, at least that has backing, unlike a lot of A+ claims of of modern American patriarchy.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
