Speaking of Ireland, I really had thought that 9/11 had woken up Catholics and Protestants, but there are literal walls between neighborhoods still there today. It is sad even in the secular west religion still has an affect on society.

I somehow find it hypocritical to criticize atheism+ and people like Myers for being bigoted when New Atheism and people like Dawkins can pretty much behave in the same way. I mean, really - There's huge amounts of groupthinking in organized atheism, and it's not just on A+, it's on every group of atheists who organize themselves according to common principles. A+ is no worse than Dawkins who believes religion is the hugest driving force in the world when virtually anything can be a force to cause evil - Not only that, but he has blind faith that the only correct society is one where people are atheists, because he says so. I think it's time atheists stop giving a fuck about important figures and considering them leaders and think for themselves. There's so much complexity in the world that seeing it trough the words of just one group gives you a very narrow perspective.

I agree we shouldn't care about atheist figures, that's in part why I'm disparaging PZ myers, because he's clearly not a voice for atheism, maybe nobody is, but, it's perfectly vald to criticize A+. It's a feminist movement that not all atheists agree with. There have been plenty of atheists that have been banned on freethroughtblogs for simply being opposed to the zeitgeist of the site. Also, Dawkins supposed position that religion is the hugest driving force in the world against logic and reason, at least that has backing, unlike a lot of A+ claims of of modern American patriarchy.

Meh every group has requirements - Some groups are only for a certain category of people. That's just life. If I went to a Church and claimed to worship satan I wouldn't expect the priest to allow my presence. That's basic common sense.

It is your opinion that Tfoot was banned simply for his dissent.

Thunderf00t and TheAmazingAtheist were banned because they have youtube videos well known for anti-feminism and men's rights rants (TheAmazingAtheist frequently chatted on men's rights on reddit and tried to trigger adverse reactions on a rape victim) - Since Freethoughtblogs (which I don't read very much) seems to be all for equality, it seems more than obvious that these two people should be banned from the group because they conflict with their interests
