If I was this "God" character, I would just make the exact number of buddies that I wanted in the first place. None of them die, and there's no need for them to reproduce and have more. I create them so they are perfectly happy with this arrangement.

And I interact with them, and see if they want to be my buddy. Which they will, because I made them that way.

Or I could just play a video game or something. Imagine what an awesome one God could create for himself!
