Um no, that is not where the left is coming from at all. Sure individuals may want to move up that payscale even on the left. I really don't like that bullshit equating the left saying "the pay gap is hurting us" means we hate all wealth or secretly want to be wealthy ourselves.
When the left says the pay gap is hurting us, THAT IS ALL WE ARE SAYING. And when a billionaire agrees with that, in that it will hurt the feedback loop that makes him rich, it might be wise for the plutocrats to listen.
This isn't about hating all wealth, this is about what the majority climate right now at this point in history is doing to us.
You cannot keep exploding the difference between the top and bottom and expect that system to survive long term. It can sure, but what you end up with is a smaller top, no middle and a majority poor.
Now to anyone who keeps using these bullshit arguments, please stop. The left is not anti private sector as a wide majority. Sure you can find some Che supporters, but most in the west on the left only want to have livable wages.
No one should hate those wanting more. But after a certain amount it becomes counter productive, especially if it is not allowing the bottom or middle to keep up with the cost of living.
