Sure. Sometimes I want to step on a bug, out of mercy, but my hard wiring seems to stop me.
It is a frustrating fact of my life that just by existing I'm going to be causing harm to various forms of life, mainly insects. I don't like it, but I don't have a lot of choice.
I don't want to ever step on a bug (except out of mercy) if I could avoid it. But I know that's not realistic. Of course I would feel a lot worse if I intended to do it.
