But we’ll have to go over there and spank IS real hard. A determination that we won’t allow them to have their caliphate and will crush it by force, even if this means civilian casualties. Just like crushing Germany in WWII. Then we’ll put IS’s leaders on trial and hang them for crimes against civilization just as we did with the top Nazis at Nuremberg. We can’t allow them to expand until they control all of Iraq and Syria and Libya. I’m guessing we’ll delay a long time, years, before we do anything about IS, but eventually our hand will be tipped and we won’t have a choice.
Somebody has to be on the moral high horse, the recriminations of the mealy-mouthed who worry we will sully our hands aside. We are better than they are this time, and we are entitled to execute righteous judgment against IS on behalf of the rest of the world, as the sole power willing and capable of doing so. The folks who run IS are not human beings. They are vicious beasts who deserve no better than extermination as a pestilence upon the world. You stop being a human being when you use a butcher knife to saw off a stranger's head. In most of the world, only serial killers do stuff like that.
