Luckily, in atheism, disproving the existence of (any) God is not necessary.
The burden of proof is squarely on those making the positive existential claim.
No religious person can give you any reason to believe 'gods' actually refers to anything. Why would anyone want to make claims regarding such a thing? The desire to make claims about 'gods' is a holdover from religion or a response to it. You can't go there without overstating your case the same way they do. Better to spend the time wondering why any of it matters to you any way.
