It doesn't matter how much somebody might "need" god, he is non-existent to the (IMO) rational mind, regardless of requirement.

I don't need a holy book to tell me what is right or wrong. if anything holy books can teach you a lot of things like genocide, infanticide, rape, murder etc. yes, I am looking at the koran and bible as I type. so I go without the books and let my morals which come from rational thought prevail over stone age myths. you do not need a book to tell you that treating other with respect will result in others treating you with respect.

Some people need the concept of god, although these tend to be the same individuals who are merely substituting one addiction for a fallible religious one. Of course, there are secular methods by which these people can become better people, yet unfortunately religion seems to be the prevalent go-to.

People don't need delusions to do good things.

Does anyone need to believe that a micro god lives on a blue quark before they do something good ?

Answer : No

No. There is a difference between need and greed. A lot of people confuse the word need when they are greedy compared to other species. When people say they need god, they are really showing greed. People only need food, water, sleep, sex, socialising, and things to make sense to survive. God is a manmade idea, not a need.

You said you read the rules.

Yeah, but I'm not promoting an echo chamber that only benefits snowflakes who can't handle people who have different opinions than they do.

You can't make a list of "the things all people need."

Needs are conditional. Dependent on circumstances. I say, if someone feels like they need God (or the illusion of God or whatever) let them.

Atheism, to me, is a personal rejection of belief in God. If others find meaning for their lives in whatever religion, great. I personally find meaningfulness elsewhere. And in things more verifiable.

Promote an echo chamber or not, it’s fine with me. But we have a rule about necroposting.
